Campfire Cooking: Campfire Steak and Eggs

Earlier this year we hosted Wilson Nguyen Getaway Brazos Valley outside of Houston to disconnect from technology and reconnect to the things that matter most. On his escape he created this delicious campfire dinner and sent us the recipe to try ourselves.

Things to Bring:

  • Non-Stick Grill Pan (Misen Grill Pan used in video)
  • Ingredients below

Provided by Getaway:

  • Olive Oil
  • Knives
  • Cutting Board
  • Campfire
  • Tongs
  • Plates, Bowls, & Utensils

Ingredients:

Steak

  • 1 Ribeye Steak
  • McCormick Montreal Steak Seasoning
  • 1 Olive Oil Packet
  • 1 Tbsp Butter

Eggs

  • 6 Eggs
  • ½ Red Bell Pepper
  • ½ Yellow Onion
  • 1 Tbsp Butter

Buttered Toast

  • 6 Tbsp Butter (Room Temperature)
  • 2 Garlic Cloves
  • ½ Cilantro Bunch
  • 1 Baguette

Instructions

Grilled Steak:

Take the steak and coat with olive oil. Season the steak with McCormick Montreal Steak Seasoning until well coated. Cook the steak on a non-stick pan over the campfire for approximately 2-3 min on each side or until desired doneness. Remove it from the heat, let the steak rest, and slice it up.

Eggs:

Dice up onions and red bell peppers. Heat up the butter on hot pan, and sauté the onions and bell peppers still golden brown. Pour in 6 eggs and cooked till desired doneness.

Buttered Toast:

Chop up cilantro and mince garlic. Combine with butter until fully incorporated. Slice up baguette into 1in thick pieces. Toast the bread on heated pan and spread butter onto toast.
