Earlier this year, we hosted musician and Artist Fellow, Brooke Alexx, at Getaway Dale Hollow outside of Nashville. She took some time to reconnect with a few friends over their love for music. Here’s what she had to say about her escape and her creative practice.
I am an independent pop artist based in Nashville, TN. I performed at Lollapalooza 2021 and my passion for content creation is thriving on TikTok where I share original music chock-full of coming-of-age concepts.
I often get sucked into work on my computer and miss out on sunlight and fresh air during the day. My roommate is constantly reminding me to take a much-needed break and step outside. It never fails to improve my mood and bring out my creativity.
My friends and I loved our Getaway experience! We are all workaholics in the music industry, so it was nice to get away, slow down, and take time to appreciate the small things. It was my first time at Getaway and it couldn’t have been more relaxing and invigorating.
